Chicken Livers

Description

Chicken Livers

Are chicken livers good for you?
A chicken liver provides a healthy dose of iron and zinc. Iron enables your body to use oxygen efficiently and to make new red blood cells. This mineral also plays a role in cell division and the health of your immune system. An iron deficiency can cause fatigue, decreased oxygen and a weakened immune system.
How long does it take to boil  livers?
After the water comes to a boil, immediately turn down the heat. Let the livers simmer uncovered until they are tender (this should take about 10-15 minutes). Though 10-15 minutes should be enough time, make sure to cook the chicken livers until they are no longer pink in the middle.
Do I need to wash livers before cooking?
Chicken livers are a cheap but nutritious type of meat. To prevent them from tasting bitter and to make sure they cook properly, it’s important to clean them correctly before you cook them. Soaking the livers in cold water and then removing any connective tissue will give you clean livers that are ready to cook
Are boiled  livers healthy?
Absolutely. When eaten in moderation as part of a balanced diet and sourced from healthy farms, chicken liver is deeply nutritious, acting as a fantastic source of protein, various vitamins including B12, and minerals such as selenium.
